GRAMMY®s 50th Anniversary The GRAMMY®s has named Roy Feinson as the featured artist for their upcoming (Feb 2008) 50th anniversary show. Commissioned to do artwork for their commemorative magazine cover, a poster and backdrops for the GRAMMY® nominations, Roy decided to do something that had never been done before. (Read the press release) Using actual photographs taken of GRAMMY® winners over the years, he arranged them in a haphazard fashion -- at various orientations and sizes -- while still managing to create a main image. "I wanted to evoke a musical jam session in which many musicians are playing their own styles while dovetailing with others around them." The artwork was unveiled at a GRAMMY® press conference by 27 time GRAMMY® winner Quincy Jones and Joss Stone. After the show, the artwork will be on display at the new GRAMMY® museum in L.A.. |
