Disney's 49th Birthday Celebration

This real-time large scale mosaic is the largest photographic mosaic ever created. Spanning over 10,000 square feet, it kicked off Disney's 50th anniversary project, The Happiest Faces on Earth.

Three months of planning culminated in a spectacular presentation as over a thousand Disney cast members, each holding a 3'x3' photo, were arranged in front of Sleeping Beauty's castle.

After the pictures were lifted on cue for the public and the press to the accompaniment of music and fanfare, a few pictures were flipped over to simulate a wink from Mickey.
